A new National Christmas Tree for 2021, planted in October. It's a 27-foot tall white fir, replacing a Colorado blue spruce planted just in 2019, but which had succumbed to needle cast disease (where the pine needles turn brown and fall off).

The new tree was donated from the Hillview Christmas tree farm in Middleburg, Pennsylvania. It was chosen because white fir is more resilient to disease. This is the first white fir to be used as the National Christmas Tree.
