The Christmas Pageant of Peace Committee, in an effort to expand the Pageant beyond the Washington, DC area and make it a truly national event, elected John W. Dixon of Dallas the president of the Christmas Pageant of Peace, Inc. He served until 1979 when Joeeph H. Riley, a Washington banker and community leader, was elected president.
