1981 - The Pageant theme was "Gifts".

56 star-shaped ornaments, representing the 50 states, territories, and the District of Columbia, were used to symbolize the characteristics, qualities, and individuality that each of the 56 bring to the nation as its unique gift.

Fallowing the celebration, these ornaments were forwarded to the various states and jurisdictions.
