April 30/May 1 we returned to Troop 1946 favorite Dolly Sods. Given rain during the days prior to the weekend, and more rain with possible floods in the forecast, we avoided the more boggy areas of Dolly Sods, and crossing Red Creek, and opted for a hike to the south thru Red Creek Plains. While we started with ridiculously dense fog, and did get wet, the weather wasn't that bad and turned beautiful on Sunday -- opening up the wonderful views... The Scouts got a nice campfire going. We ate well. Learned about water filtration and the uniqueness of the Dolly Sods topography on the Allegheny Front/Eastern Continental Divide. Turned out to be a GREAT weekend!
