The lighting changed from brilliant red to a crisp, clear white, both superimposed over the basic steady-burning green lights. This cycling provided a red-over green color scheme at one point, changing to red and white-over-green at the mid-point, and ended with white-over green before recycling.

The top ornament was about 3 feet tall and resembled a huge white three-dimensional poinsettia. It glowed brightly red at times, red and white at others, and pure white at one point in the cycling.
