1985 - The theme was "Traditions".

The tree was decorated with two complimentary patterns of lighted ornaments. The first pattern consisted of over 100 transparent red globes, each illuminated by a single clear bulb. The red pattern stayed on cotinuously when the tree was lit. A second pattern of more than 100 open diamond-shaped ornaments was interspersed between the pattern of red globes. Each of these diamond-shaped ornaments was outlined in gold bulbs with a single red bulb in the center.
