1990 - The theme was "Discovery".

The lighting system cross-faded from glitering white to multi-colored lighting to illustrate the phenomenon that white light is made up of the sum of all colors. Symbolically this emphasized the importance of people enriching their lives by reaching out and discovering other people, places and ideas.

The white lighting was created with 2,500 clear lights.
