Led by KISC "Pinkies" Ben and Becky (both from the UK), we hiked the other-wordly Gastern valley (origin of the Kander river from which Kandersteg's name is derived), making our way to the Gfellalp hut for an overnight there. The hut is a former alpen restaurant. The Scouts took advantage of the facilities, fixing up a full three-course dinner in the commercial kitchen, routing it thru the dumbwaiter to the dining room upstairs which they had set with candle light. Likely among the best meals we had all week.
